Happy Birthday Grandpa Chewy!

For my Dad's Birthday both Derek and Keli were working, so the rest of us got together and BBQ'd and had Carrot Cake. The necklace he is wearing was made by Caiden. He insisted all day that he needed to make one for him out of the girls pop beads. I kept trying to talk him out of it but he wouldn't give up and I was glad because Chewy loved it. We love you Grandpa Chewy! Happy Birthday!!

Play dough Cookies

Caiden is still having a really hard time at school so to hopefully make it a little easier he invited his friend from class over to play. They played Wii most of the time and then took a break to make some play dough cookies. They were really fun and all the kids enjoyed it. What made it even more fun was having Dad home to make them with us!! We got this cute idea from here.

Ignore the wild hair, they just woke up from naps and were too excited about making the cookies to have me fix it!

Fondue Party

Jon, Keli, Derek, and my parent's came over tonight and brought fondue stuff. Jon is becoming quite the chef! 8) We had rice crispy treats, pretzels, strawberries, bananas, and marshmallows covered in Oreo's to dip into a chocolate-almond sauce, chips and salsa, bean dip, cream cheese shrimp dip, the list goes on and on. It was yummy!! We played games and talked while we ate. Then I wonder why I gained weight this weekend!! HAHA!!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas was SO much fun this year! The girls actually understood what was happening and they were really excited. I think it was fun for Caiden to have two more people to share it with also. Rich and I were so excited we tossed and turned all night and couldn't sleep at all. We had a slumber party in our room so we were laughing about how ridiculous it was that we were looking at the kids who were sound asleep and we weren't.

Next we went over to my parent's house for Christmas #2. When we got there Jon, my sister's boyfriend, had made the best breakfast ever! A breakfast casserole, sticky buns, french toast with coconut syrup, and hot chocolate! YUM!!!

Later on we went out to the fire department to spend some time with Derek since he was working again. I forgot my camera so we didn't get any pictures.
We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We are truly thankful for our Savior, Jesus Christ, and the sacrifice he made for us.

Christmas Eve

I love Christmas Eve! It's almost as fun as Christmas Day. First, we went over to my parent's house and ate pizza and wings. We opened our pajamas, watched "A King is Born", then we usually decorate gingerbread houses but we ran out of time. Instead since Derek had to go to work in the morning we watched him open all his gifts. It was fun but we missed Keli since she was at work.

We always tease my Dad about wearing his pants up high so when Rich came out with his new pajamas on he had them pulled up high and we were all cracking up. Pretty soon all my kids wanted in on the joke and had their pants pulled up too...

Sledding

We had been in the house all day trying to finish up getting ready for Christmas and the kids were a little tired of being inside so we took them sledding next door to my parents house. The first few times the girls didn't like it but once they got used to it they loved it!

Kortlin went a few times and then decided she was done so this is her watching with Grandma. Maybe if they would have had some real snow clothes they wouldn't have been freezing and might have enjoyed it even more...

Christmas Light Parade

This year we went to the Christmas Light parade downtown. We have wanted to go every year but it's either snowing or we have our ward party. We thought it was going to be a small, cheesy parade but it was actually really fun! Afterwards, we went home and made some Christmas cookies and had hot cocoa to warm us up.

Snow, snow, and MORE snow!!!

We got over 2 feet of snow so Caiden hasn't had school for 3 days. We are all sooo sick of being stuck in the house and I'm pretty sure Rich is tired of shoveling! I even tried to be nice and shovel for him before he got home from work but it was coming down so hard that by the time I came inside what I had shoveled was all covered up. We are supposed to get up to another foot this weekend...enough already!

One of the days Caiden was home we made some sugar cookies. The kids had fun decorating them but wouldn't eat any of the ones with frosting or sprinkles, they liked them better plain.

Choo Choo!

This weekend my mom, sister, and I took a girls trip to the valley to get some Christmas shopping done. We had been at the Chandler mall all day and they had this cute little train that would give kids rides all through the mall. We promised Kelsi and Kortlin that if they would stay in their strollers while we shopped they could do it before we left. They absolutely loved it and cried to do it again afterwards. They waved to everyone we passed so people were cracking up when we went by.

It has begun...

We have these little potties just to sit on and I was NEVER, EVER, EVER planning on actually using them because I think it is just plain s.i.c.k. They woke up from their nap today, took their pants right off and sat the potties on the livingroom rug. They hung out for a little while and then all of a sudden Kort, well you know the rest. I won't gross you out with the details...It totally freaked her out and they both refuse to try it again. I remember being really excited to potty train Caiden but now I know what is ahead and I'm dreading it!
