Father and Sons

Rich wasn't able to take Caiden to our ward Father and Sons so he went to my dads with my brother and friend Mike. It was at Schultz Lake which is about 45 minutes west of town.

This was Caiden's first time riding a motorcycle. He LOVED it and kept saying "That is ONE SWEET YELLOW RIDE!!"
This was also his first time shooting a BB Gun which of course he loved.

Sitting around the campfire eatin SMORES.

Our Weekend Getaway

We have not been on a vacation in over 14 months. We decided it was long over due and figured we would give it a try this weekend for my birthday and go to Mesa. We stopped in Anthem on the way down and did some shopping at the mall there. Afterwards we went to eat at Macayo's. Saturday we did some more shopping at IKEA, Babies R Us, and the new Santan outdoor mall in Gilbert. That afternoon we went to "Fiddlesticks" and did Go-Karts, Bumperboats, and Miniature golfing. Sunday we went to church and then Rich and I drove to Apache Junction to see our good friends Cody and Emily. We hung out with them the rest of the evening and had so much fun. Monday we got up and did more shopping and then ate lunch at our favorite "Cafe Rio" and "Bahama Bucks." We had so much fun!! We were also able to see my cousin Lani and her husband Greg and their kids, who we haven't seen in a long time. Thanks Deanna and Ed for letting us all stay with you guys! When we came home from Mesa we went to my parents house and had dinner and opened presents. I had such a fun weekend and birthday! I have the best family and friends ever!! Thanks!

I spoke too soon...

I'm sure everyone is sick of seeing our snow pictures but since this is our family journal I wanted it on record that today is May 23, 2008 and we have MORE snow!! In the same week, Flagstaff broke century-old records for daytime heat and daytime coolness. 3 days ago it was 85 and today the high is supposed to only get to 39. Caiden ran out to play in it first thing this morning. Good thing SOMEONE is excited about it!

He said "There is work to be done. Someone HAS GOT to sweep all this snow off mom!"

Preschool Pizza Party

Today was Caiden's last day of Preschool. He started out with Brieann Street as his teacher but she ended up having her baby early so Robyn Fox took over. They were both great teachers and Caiden loved going every single time. Thanks Brieann and Robyn for being such fun teachers!!

This is the older and younger class combined singing a bunny song that they learned for the parents.

Robyn made a binder with all their work they had done and presented it to them. She also wrote a whole page about why she loved each of the kids and read it in front of everyone.

Caiden and Charley - They were so excited when they learned their names both started with a "C" that they became friends instantly.

Are you kidding me??

May should be a month of beautiful flowers, the start of sitting outside and enjoying ball games, eating outside on the patio, etc. This is what we woke up to this morning...

Just yesterday we were wearing shorts and capris and now there is several inches of snow on the ground. This weekend is supposed to be back up to the 70's again. This sure is some crazy weather!!

Thank You!!

The last two weeks have been absolutely horrible!! It all started with my last post and hasn't stopped since. Kortlin ended up getting a bad Upper Respiratory Infection, Kelsi the Croup, and Caiden throwing up. I have not had more than four hours of sleep in a long time (a few nights 1.5 hours) which is not enough to deal with two crying babies all day long. Then just when I thought I couldn't take anymore, Rich had to go out of town for work. It was 10:30 PM and all three kids still wide awake. The girls were screaming and I just didn't know what to do anymore, nothing was working. I called my parents and they came over until midnight and helped me get them to sleep. (Thank you so much Mom and Dad! I don't know what I would do without you guys!) My Aunt Deanna came through town Thursday morning and she ended up stopping and helping me out for a few hours. She held crying, snotty kids, and played with Caiden while I made a cake for my dessert group that night, and she even folded some laundry! Then on Friday morning my best friend Ruth called and told me she made me an appointment to get a massage and it was all paid for. It was heavenly and exactly what I needed. It completely relaxed me and gave me the strength to keep going. I truly don't know what I would do without her! She has listened to me cry and complain on the phone every day...when she is sick in bed for the last seven months due to pregnancy. Later that night my sister came over with a chick flick and our favorite double chocolate chip frappuccinos from Starbucks. I am so thankful for family and a close friend who helped me through all this. I love you guys, THANK YOU!!!
