We drove out to Gooseberry Springs Thursday night after my Birthday dinner at Monsoon's. Everyone was so excited to try out the new trailer that they could hardly wait to get out there. We didn't end up unloading and getting everything set up until about 10:00 and then we had birthday cake.
It's a tradition that we take a puffy cheek picture on our birthday. Caiden put the candles on my cake and he was upside down...so it says "13", I liked that number better anyways! Keli and Jon were even able to drive up Friday night to spend the rest of the weekend with us!!
The trip started out like any other camping trip. Horseshoes, motorcycle rides, napping, eating, card games, BB gun shooting, baseball...
I was just running over to take a picture of Derek and Caiden riding in on the motorcycle when I noticed they didn't have the normal waving and happy smiles they usually had. Then I saw Derek was holding Caiden's shoe in one hand and Caiden was screaming....
Caiden was feeling around for the peg to rest his feet on which would have been fine, except there wasn't a peg on the right side of the motorcycle. He was super lucky that he didn't break anything (that we know of yet) just some major torn up skin and a bad sprain.
A couple of hours later he was out shooting again.
One of the nights Derek made BBQ Chicken Pizza's for dinner. This was the dancing assembly line and Rich was the one that worked the grill.
When we came home we had to get Caiden some crutches, or "crotches" as the girls keep calling them. Walking out of the store several people stopped Caiden to ask him what happened. He kept telling them that, "He got his ankle stuck in the motorcycle smokes and that the crutches were the worst things E.V.E.R." I think they were a lot harder than he expected.
He was able to miss school for a week, and was spoiled major. Uncle Derek brought him over a Cookie Dough Blizzard and he has watched TV and movies, played Wii and his DS, and had most of his meals served to him in bed.
