Backyard Camping

#1 has been having a hard time this week adjusting to his new schedule. There have been lots of tears every day at school so we told him that if he didn't cry we could have a camp out in the backyard. I wish I could say it worked and there were no more tears but it seems to be getting a little better so we went ahead and did it. We haven't been camping since the girls were born so we decided it would also be a good way to see how they would do sleeping in a tent.

They were SO excited to help set it up and had fun running around and playing inside.


Then our AMAZING friend, Barb, showed up with a Papa Murphy's pizza. It was SO dang good and she couldn't have picked a better day to surprise our family with dinner! [Thanks again Barb!!]

After our yummy dinner we made some no bakes which didn't last long at all...



When I asked #3 if she liked it she gave it one thumb up!

When Rich and I were first married he said he was going to make some no bake "cookies" and when he was finished he dumped all the batter into a huge pile. I thought it was the weirdest thing ever...until I tasted it and now I think it is the best thing e.v.e.r.!! We give everyone a fork or spoon and we all dig in! They are warm and gooey and oh so good!
We had such a fun night and can't wait to do it again!

I can't believe our little man started school! It hit me hard this week. I realized these first five years went by SO fast and I hope I made the best of that short time we had together by teaching him everything he needs to know. He will be gone every day for almost 7 hours which seems like such a long time! I am sad to be losing my little buddy that would make me laugh every day, all day long but at the same time I am excited for him to start this new stage in his life and I know he will have a lot of fun.

The Comfort Socks

Most kids have comfort blankets or stuffed animals, but not our girls...they have socks. I have been meaning to take pictures of this for oh, 22 months and finally did it tonight. When the girls were about 4 months old they would always scratch their faces with their nails so we started putting those little baby mittens on them. They started moving their arms and hands all around playing with the mittens when they were going to sleep and it would keep them up so we started putting socks on their hands so they could be tucked into their pj's and it helped them fall asleep faster. As they got older they learned how to rip the socks off their hands but started putting them over their eyes to sleep. Now they have to have them to sleep so we carry an extra pair with us wherever we go.

A birthday, a baptism, a wedding, and a farewell

Yes this was all in ONE crazy weekend! It started out at Lake Mary for a BBQ and some skiing for the birthday boy with my family. It was FREEZING and SO windy [we blame that one on Jon!! 8)] but we had fun anyways.

Happy Birthday Rich!! I hope you know how much we all love you and appreciate everything you do for our family!

The next morning we drove to Prescott for Drew's baptism. Every single person in Rich's family was there minus 4 nephews, who we missed!

All the cousins


After the baptism all 33 of us drove to Cottonwood for the biggest Red Neck wedding we had ever seen. Rich's cousin was married at the Dead Horse Ranch State Park and all we can say about it is WOW. Then we all drove back to Prescott and hung out the rest of the night. Sunday morning Grandpa Fuzz and Grandma Nana had their farewell sacrament and we are so glad we were able to be there for it. Good luck Fuzz and Noma! You will be missed but we know the work you are doing is important and we will all be blessed because of your service.




After church we went back to Grandpa Fuzz and Grandma Nana's house for a birthday party for Drew and Rich.

Swimming Lessons

#1 started swimming lessons this week. Right before the first class he was crying and begging not to do it. He said he didn't feel good, his head hurt, etc... After class was over he came running up and gave me a huge hug and said "Thanks for signing me up mom, I LOVE IT!!"
I have been taking the girls each day and letting them swim during his class. They have all had a fun time and come home exhausted each day. Today our friends Heidi and Elizabeth were there to play with us also! Thanks Derek and Keli for helping me take the girls!

Needed 3 shots to be ready for school, didn't cry at all. He is such a good kid, for the most part, and is a huge help to me all the time. He is constantly giving me and his sisters kisses and telling us he loves us. He asks over 2,000 questions a day [ugh!] and my favorite word he says right now is "grav" [grab]. We have told him tons of times the right way to say it but it's funny how he continues to say it wrong.

She has a funny little personality. She is always dancing or doing something to tease her brother or sister. She can say just about every word now but one of my favorites is "Nilk" [milk]. She always says "Thanks" or "Tank ew" and wants to give kisses to everyone that gets hurt.

She LOVES being outside riding bikes, skooters, eating, anything as long as it's outside! She says just about every word also but my favorite is when I say "Good Job!" she says "Welpum" [welcome].


These two are the best of friends already, along with their brother, and have so much fun playing together!
