Lake Mary

Tonight for FHE we went to Lake Mary. Last year every time we went to Lake Mary or Lake Powell we tried to get Caiden to at least get on the tube or jet skis. He would but he would always cry to get off as soon as he got on. He kept saying "As soon as I am 4 I will be big enough to go." We kept wondering what the excuse would be when he turned 4. Well today when we were getting the car loaded up he kept saying he was so excited to go so he could go skiing. We thought he meant to just go in the boat because he is always too scared to get in the water. When he got in the boat he said "I'm up third!" (No clue where he got that??) After Mike and Keli went he flipped his shoes off and said he was going.

I didn't know all this was going on because I was just sitting on the shore with the girls. The boat came right in front of me and I see Caiden on the wakeboard with Derek and he was waving and smiling as big as he could. I wasn't prepared so by the time I got the camera out they had already turned around the other direction so you can't see Caiden very well in the pictures. The rest of the night he couldn't stop talking about it. He loved it!

Diamondbacks Game

For my birthday Keli and Mike gave me Diamondback tickets. Our seats were outside on the deck at TGIF's. They played KC Royals and it was actually a boring game because it was tied 0-0 until the bottom of the 10th when Chad Tracy hit a walk off home run. After the game they had fireworks which was really cool. Thanks guys, we had so much fun!!

We ordered one of every dessert...YUM!!

The Big ONE

WARNING: Very long and lots of pictures!
It all started with an ultrasound on Monday, November 13, 2006. I couldn't get in to see my doctor until I was twelve weeks so the office made me an appointment at eight weeks for an ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy and due date. Rich and I were both watching the screen seeing two tiny spots but it wasn't registering what we were seeing. Then the tech said "It's a good thing you are both sitting down...You are having Twins!" I kept saying "No, No, No" over and over and Rich was in shock but excited. I left the doctors office crying hysterically. I had so many things going through my mind. What would happen with Caiden? Would he be left out? Would I still be close to him? Why Me, I can't even handle the one kid I already have, especially two more at the same time. I cried a lot during my pregnancy. I felt so bad because I had lots of friends who would give anything to have a child and here I was getting two and could do nothing but complain.

(32 weeks)

On Tuesday, May 22nd I had to go in for a NST (you have to sit back in a recliner and be hooked up to a monitor to see if the babies are under any stress) which took about two hours. My doctor, Dr. Perrin came in and said the babies looked great and she wanted me back on Friday the 25th for an ultrasound to check the size. If they were more than a pound apart she would induce that weekend. When I had my ultrasound their weight was fine but they were both breech. She scheduled me for a c-section on June 4th which would put me at a little over 36 weeks.
Sunday night, June 3rd Caiden spent the night at my parents because Rich and I had to be at the hospital Monday at 5:30 AM. When we got there they hooked me up to the monitor to find the babies heartbeats. They gave me my IV and I answered a million health questions. Then they had Rich change into scrubs and they wheeled me into the OR. They had me all preped and ready to go so they brought Rich in at about 7:50. At 8:00 they showed me Kelsi 5 lbs.9 oz, and 8:02 Kortlin 4 lbs.7 oz, and then rushed them off to clean and check them out. They finished sewing me up and wheeled me across the hall to recover. Kelsi was doing great but Kortlin couldn't keep her temperature up. My parents, Caiden, Derek, Keli, and Aunt Deanna and Uncle Ed had been in the waiting room the whole time dying to see them. Finally at around noon they took me up to my room with Kelsi and Kortlin had to go to the Special Care Nursury until her temperate was more stable. She was only there for about two hours but it felt like FOREVER until they brought her to us. We were all able to leave four days later to go home.

This year has just flown by. It has been a lot of hard work but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Nothing is better than having two girls crawl up and sit on my lap to give me hugs. I love all three of my kids so much and am glad they are all a part of our family!!

Our plans for the party were to have a bbq outside and just hang out with family but it ended up raining, we had 50 mph winds, and none of Rich's family could make it. We took a few pictures outside before the rain came and then went inside for the rest of the party.

Kelsi

Kortlin

Obviously the girls were not happy about taking more pictures.

Kelsi Kortlin
They were trying to touch the cake the entire time we were getting ready and as soon as they were allowed they wouldn't go near. This was about as close as they got before they started crying.
My parents got them a toy you sit on and ride and it worked out perfect because one could ride and the other would walk behind and push. They LOVED it!!
